    The first season of the large-scale documentary series "Looking for Ancient China" created by China Central Radio and Television has been completed, and it will start broadcasting on CCTV-1 at 22:30 on May 26.

    Poster of the first series of "Looking for Ancient China" "The Story of Ancient Dian"

    The first series "Ancient Dian Ji" will explore how the ancient Dian Kingdom was established, developed and integrated into the history of the Western Han Dynasty recorded in historical records, as well as the brilliant bronze civilization created by the ancient Dian people in the exchanges with the Central Plains and ancient Shu regions.

    Where is the mysterious ancient Dian Kingdom located? When did it originate? What kind of magical connection does the little snail have with the life of the ancient Yunnan people? How did the ancient Dian people create a civilization that amazed future generations?

    "Looking for Ancient China·Ancient Dian Ji" draws on the latest archaeological excavations and research results in the surrounding areas of Dianchi Lake in Yunnan, and walks into archaeological sites one by one. Outline the life scenes and development of the ancient Dian people.

    There is an ancient city village ruins by the Dianchi Lake in Kunming, Yunnan. Under the seemingly ordinary mound, there is a snail mountain buried. People who lived here in ancient times caught snails from Dianchi Lake to eat, and then discarded the shells. After more than a thousand years, a 6.5-meter-thick snail shell# was buried under this site in Yunnan, forming a "shell mound site" with an area about the size of 13 football fields. And this also left an important clue for us to study Dian culture;

    The "Golden Seal of the King of Dian" unearthed in Shizhai Mountain, Jinning, Yunnan has attracted worldwide attention. Although this golden seal is less than one square inch, it opened the door to the treasure house of ancient Dian culture that has been dormant for thousands of years, and proved the existence of the ancient Dian kingdom. The precious cultural relics Buwei Cheng's seal and seal mud disclosed for the first time in the program, as well as archaeological evidence such as the Dian Kingdom's seal and seal mud and hundreds of slips and slips that have received wide attention before, all show that after the middle of the Western Han Dynasty, the central government has already paid attention to the ancient Dian Kingdom, including the ancient Dian Kingdom. Yunnan has implemented very effective administrative governance. The records about the ancient Dian Kingdom in "Historical Records" and the continuous emergence of a large number of historical sites and antiquities in archaeology prove that the ancient Dian culture finally merged with the Central Plains culture and merged into the pluralistic Chinese civilization.

    Chinese civilization has a long history, broad and profound, and is a unique spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation. It not only contains major issues such as "who are we" and "where do we come from", but also contains the oriental wisdom of "knowing where we come from and where we are going". The large-scale series of documentaries "Looking for Ancient China" is based on the theme of "seeking the roots, asking where it came from, and telling the story of Chinese civilization". There are 7 series of programs including Yunmeng Ji, Paddy Tale, and Heluo Tale.

    The program deepens the creative concept of "thought + art + technology", makes full use of new technologies such as free perspective, large-scene 3D scanning, XR+, etc., innovatively designs visual images, brings the perspective from the museum directly to the archaeological site, and "traversing through the past and present" through thousands of years ", showing the formation process of Chinese civilization that has never ceased for five thousand years and the pattern of pluralistic unity, and vividly reflects that the Chinese nation has gone through a development process that is different from other civilizations in the world.

    "Looking for the past" is to better understand the present; "Tracing the source" is the only way to understand the past and the present, learn from the past and know the future. "The future looks at the present, and the present looks at the past." The large-scale documentary series "Looking for Ancient China" better demonstrates the brilliant achievements of Chinese civilization and its major contributions to human civilization through the narration of ancient books, ancient objects, and monuments.

    It is understood that "Looking for Ancient China" was jointly produced by China Central Radio and Television and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. Mr. Sun Boxiang, a famous calligrapher of Wei Bei, inscribed the title of the documentary.

    "Looking for Ancient China·The Story of Ancient Dian" was premiered on May 26th and 27th at 22:30 on CCTV Integrated Channel (CCTV-1), and was broadcast simultaneously on new media platforms such as CCTV and CCTV. .
