"One and Four" is a major literary and artistic creation project funded by the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation. It is adapted from Jiang Yangcairang's novel of the same name. It is the first feature film of the post-95s director Jiumi Chenglie, who is also the son of the late director Wanma Caidan. .

Talking about the interpretation of "X" in the premiere theme "1+4=X", director Kumi Nariye admitted that he hopes that this letter with infinite possibilities can represent a box office hit.
