"The reason why I wanted to make this movie is, in a sense, because I want to reflect on my current life. When I was a child, I liked electronic watches. After I got an electronic watch, I wanted to buy a mechanical watch. But after I got a mechanical watch, I wanted to buy a mechanical watch. I want to buy a Rolex. My desire keeps growing, but every time I realize it, I am only happy for a moment, but in the process of chasing my desire, I lose the company of my family. I hope to use this movie to tell everyone that sometimes , happiness is by your side." Bao Beier said that he has been in the industry for 19 years. "This is my third work as a director. Over the years, I have also taken directing classes, screenwriting classes, photography classes, and even posters. I’m always learning about design. I usually follow a lot of film critics, and this time I hope to get their encouragement and analysis and point out my shortcomings.”

During the post-screening exchange session, actor and director Wang Baoqiang said in his speech that "The Villain" made people happy and touching. "I think Bao Beier, as the leading actor, cried so much this time that his energy was exhausted. As a director, if he doesn't have considerable skills and experience, he won't be able to make something profound in the movie." Comedian Qiao Shan He also recalled, "A few years ago, Bao Beier and I were filming on the same crew, and he told me that he had made a movie. If it wasn't good, he wouldn't want to be a director. After watching the movie, I felt that he could be a comedy director. Keep walking steadily on the road.”
Director Liu Yulin said in his speech that in his last film "Ordinary Men and Women", Bao Beier played the "big villain" in the film. "His performance at that time sent shivers down my spine. We generally think that villains are cold and cruel. This time watching the movie directed by him, I felt the charming characters, and the details of laughter and tears. It moved us a lot. This movie talks about truth and falsehood. Behind the falsehood is greed and desire, but behind the truth is letting us see the love and warmth around us that are worth cherishing."
