From May 25th to June 2nd, the "Mexican Film Masters Exhibition" hosted by the Shanghai Art Film Alliance will be held at the Grandview Cinema.
Tickets for the film festival will officially go on sale at 12 noon on May 22 .
This "Mexican Film Masters Exhibition" focuses on the works of Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuarón, two of the world-renowned "Three Masters of Mexican Films", and the top masterpieces of important filmmakers in the history of Mexican films, leading the audience to step into the exotic American resorts and experience a rich and colorful visual feast. At the same time, the best projection media is selected to bring the best audio-visual experience.

Victims of the Slums (Víctimas del pecado, 1951)
This is a masterpiece of a mix of black films and musicals written and directed by Emilio Fernandez, a master of Mexican Golden Age films. The story takes place in post-war Mexico City. A dancer rescues an abandoned baby from a trash can and plans to raise him. But because of this child, she lost her original job and became a prostitute in the alley. Fortunately, she met a man who ran a nightclub and her life gradually improved, but it didn't last long. It was nominated for the Mexican Ariel Award for Best Child Actor and Best Cinematography.

The End Is Coming (Tiempo de Morir, 1966)
The first work of Mexican film master Arturo Lipstein, co-written by Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez and Mexican national treasure writer Carlos Fuentes, tells the story of a man who was imprisoned for murder and was released after 18 years. Although he acted in self-defense, the two sons of the murdered man still regarded him as a cold-blooded killer. After hearing that he was released from prison, they rushed to seek revenge on him. Won the Mexican Film Journalist Award for Best Film.

Deep Scarlet (Profundo carmesí, 1996)

Gradually, he discovered that the ghost of a little boy in the orphanage never left and seemed to always want to find Carlos. Passively, Carlos and his friends explored the truth. Love in Hysteria (Sólo con tu pareja, 1991)
This is the first feature film written and directed by Mexican film master Alfonso Cuarón. It tells the story of a young man named Thomas who is a playboy. One of the girls he has relationships with is quite special. She feels neglected during a date with Thomas, so she decides to play a trick on him: she tampered with Thomas' medical report. After seeing the report, Thomas fell into despair and decided to end it all. It won the Mexican Ariel Award for Best Original Story, and was nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay.
