On May 30, the shortlist for the 29th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Award was announced. "Fang Hua" was nominated for multiple awards including Best TV Series, Best Director, Best Screenwriter (Adaptation), Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, etc.

In the Chinese TV series category, "The Imperfect Victim", "Long River: The Years Are Like Songs", "Flower City", "Glory of Our Fathers", "Welcome to Maile Village", "The Long Season", "From South to North", "Asking the Vastness", "Asking the Heart", and "Storm Chasers" were nominated for the Best TV Series Award.

In terms of role awards, Ding Yongdai, Fan Wei, Hu Ge, Wang Renjun, and Wang Yang will compete for Best Actor, while Ren Suxi, Tang Yan, Yan Ni, Yang Zi, and Zhou Xun will compete for Best Actress.

It is reported that this year's Shanghai TV Festival will be held from June 22 to 28, and the major awards will be announced at the "Magnolia Blossom" awards ceremony on the evening of June 28.

The Magnolia Awards of this year's TV Festival received nearly 1,000 entries from 57 countries and regions on five continents. In the TV series category, about 190 Chinese dramas were registered, and the number of overseas dramas increased from nearly 110 last year to nearly 170, achieving a 53.7% increase; the number of entries in the documentary and animation categories also increased significantly, and in these two sections where Chinese and foreign works competed on the same stage, the proportion of overseas works increased year by year; in the documentary category, foreign works accounted for 60% of the entries this year, and well-known overseas TV organizations such as BBC, Sony, HBO Warner Discovery Channel, Disney National Geographic, etc., all selected high-quality programs to participate in the selection.
