The "Her in Creation" Chinese Women Filmmakers Summit will be held in Shanghai on June 12. It is reported that this summit will deeply explore the contributions of many women in creating and establishing this art form since the birth of film, and examine the forgetting and neglect they have encountered in subsequent film history.

From Varda's rise to fame during the New Wave of cinema to the large number of female directors emerging around the world today, the first session of this summit will discuss their unique artistic perspectives and influence, and how they create and shape culture.

Introduction of guests at the forum:
• Ann Hui - Director, the first female director to win the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize. Known for her profound films such as Days and Nights in Tin Shui Wai, A Simple Life and The Golden Era, her works always accurately depict the complexity of human nature and emotions.
• Dai Jinhua - Professor at Peking University, Academic Chair of the Sino-French Women's Film Project of "ART SHANGHAI". Her research covers modern Chinese women's literature, film culture and gender studies. Her major works include "Emerging from the Surface of History: A Study of Modern Chinese Women's Literature", "Landscape in the Mist: Chinese Film Culture 1978-1998" and "Gender China".
• Mao Jian - Professor at East China Normal University, writer. His profound film reviews and essays, such as "Very Sinful, Very Beautiful: Mao Jian's Film Notes" and "There is a Tiger in the Bathroom", provide a unique perspective for the in-depth exploration of Chinese film culture.
• Liu Jiayin - Director, screenwriter, associate professor of literature at Beijing Film Academy. With her keen sense of literature and film, she has created many influential works, such as "Oxhide" and "Worth the Trip".
• Teng Congcong - screenwriter, director. Her film "Send Me to the Clouds" and mini-series "My Altay" demonstrate her outstanding talent in narrative construction and character portrayal.
As the number of women in the film industry continues to increase, their creations are becoming increasingly rich and diverse. Women's understanding and appreciation of women, as well as their support for each other, have always been an important force in encouraging female filmmakers to move forward. The second session of the upcoming "Her in Creation" China Women Filmmakers Summit will take this as the theme and explore in depth the unique contributions and experiences of women in the film industry.

Introduction of guests of Forum 2:
• Zhou Xinxia - Professor at Beijing Film Academy, first-class editor, and president of the Chinese Film Editing Society. Professor Zhou's representative works include "The Great Parade" and "Bloody Morning". Her professional skills and artistic insight are widely recognized by the industry.
• Ye Jing - Associate Professor of Beijing Film Academy, former deputy director of Youth Film Studio. Ye Jing has extensive experience in film planning and production, and has participated in the production of many well-known films, such as "Ip Man 2" and "Beijing Love Story".
• Ma Defan - Artist, costume designer, and cross-border artist of China Film Group. Her costume design works for White Deer Plain and Under the Hawthorn Tree were well received, and she is unique in the industry for her innovative and distinctive visual style.
• Long Xiaozhu - Sound Director, Mixer. Long Xiaozhu has become a well-known sound production expert in the industry with his outstanding sound design in "Snowstorm" and "Master".
• Deng Lu - Director of Photography, Gaffer. Deng Lu's works such as "An Elephant Sitting Still" and "One Week Friends" demonstrate her exquisite control of light and shadow, making her stand out in the film photography industry.
The summit will invite this new batch of outstanding female filmmakers to discuss and celebrate their outstanding contributions in different aspects of filmmaking, and explore how they influence society and culture through artistic expression.
The summit will be held at the Bund Yuanyi on June 12, 2024. Through keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, it will provide participants with a platform for communication and inspiration.
