In March 2022, "Trendy Kids" launched a special program for the children of the most beautiful strugglers. In addition to the shipbuilding, aerospace, electric power, petrochemical, and information and communication industries, the program also invited the children of Shanghai Electric people who are creating new glory and China's large aircraft people who never give up as an aviation power to participate in the recording of special programs, and share their stories of struggle and breakthroughs with the host Jin Wei.

In May 2024, the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions and "Trendy Kids" planned and launched a special May Day program for Shanghai model workers and craftsmen. In order to promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign children, the program "Trendy Kids" has invited children from France, the United States, Canada, Brazil and other countries to participate in the program recording, which has injected fresh blood into the program and added more topic dimensions. Chinese and foreign children have enhanced their understanding through exchanges, and while experiencing the inclusive and diverse culture, it has also built an effective platform for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

During traditional Chinese festivals, the program will also invite foreign children to experience Shanghai's urban culture with the host Jin Wei and gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese traditional folk customs. During the 2023 Spring Festival, "Trendy Kids" will invite foreign children living in Shanghai to visit Yu Garden with the host Jin Wei. Through traditional Chinese New Year ways such as guessing lantern riddles, paper cutting, and writing Spring Festival couplets, the children will have a better understanding of Chinese traditional culture and feel the charm of Shanghai.

Reunion through the Internet, sharing the love for family and country

During the 2021 Spring Festival, "Trendy Kids" launched a series of "Special Programs for Families of Shanghai Aid Cadres". The program invited Shanghai aid cadres and their children to introduce the daily work and life of Shanghai aid cadres in the local area through on-site interaction, video connection, etc., and sent them reunion blessings and recorded warm moments during the Spring Festival. The program started on February 20, 2021 and has been broadcast for 13 consecutive special programs, showing the spirit of poverty alleviation cadres who sacrifice their small families for the sake of everyone, reflecting the warm family atmosphere and touching family and country feelings, and has won social acclaim and praise from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.

During the recording of the program, the children's childish words, the true feelings of the cadres supporting Qinghai, and the selfless dedication of the family members moved the program members deeply.

Shanghai and Xinjiang develop in synergy, and culture enriches children's hearts

In order to promote the exchange of children between Shanghai and Xinjiang, inherit and develop the excellent traditional Chinese culture, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Government Cooperation and Exchange Office and the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, and with the active assistance of the Shanghai Aid Xinjiang Front Command, from 2021 to 2023, "Trendy Kids World" has launched three consecutive "Most Beautiful Xinjiang" special programs. In the three seasons, the project team actively explored new ways to take Shanghai children to visit Shache, Kashgar, and Bachu, from "visiting" to "exchange", and replaced "observation" with "experience". Through the mutual visits and interactions between children in Shanghai and Xinjiang, the children eat, live, travel, and study together, build friendships in learning and exchanges, and let the culture in their hearts continue to blend in life exchanges. At the same time, through programs and offline exchange activities, the happy life of local people and the fruitful results of Shanghai's counterpart assistance work are displayed.

Highlights of activities and exchanges between children in Shanghai and Xinjiang

In order to let the children in Xinjiang have an intuitive understanding of Shanghai and to further strengthen the friendship between the children in Shanghai and Xinjiang, during the National Day in 2023, the project team also invited Uyghur children to come to Shanghai to celebrate the birthday of the motherland with the children in Shanghai, so that they can truly listen, see and experience, feel the charm of Shanghai and perceive the strength of the motherland.

As one of Shanghai's cultural projects in Xinjiang this year, "Trendy Kids - The Most Beautiful Xinjiang" will continue to Yecheng County, Kashgar Prefecture in late August. With more innovative program formats and content, it will tell the important achievements of Shanghai in its aid to Xinjiang from a children's perspective and share the life stories of the staff working in aid to Xinjiang.
