On September 9, "@SonyPictures" announced on Weibo that "Venom: The Final Dance" (also known as "Venom 3") will be released in mainland China on October 23, with a release date in the United States set for October 25.
"Venom: The Final Dance" tells the story of Venom and Eddie (played by Tom Hardy) as they face their darkest hour. On one side, they are relentlessly pursued by a mysterious human organization, while on the other, an alien symbiote army invades Earth. The duo is united in purpose, employing various combat strategies across land, sea, and air. Faced with frantic pursuits from both sides, this pair of fugitives will be forced to make a devastating decision, bringing their final dance to a close.

Venom is a well-known "anti-hero" character from Marvel, having appeared in various film and television adaptations. The trilogy adapted by Sony Pictures began in 2018, with "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" released in mainland China on November 9 of that year, grossing 1.87 billion RMB and receiving a Douban score of 7.2. However, its 2021 sequel, "Venom 2," which was released in the US, suffered a critical backlash with a Douban rating of 5 and was not released in mainland China.
Since the Venom film IP is under Sony Pictures, it has not been able to connect with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) over the years, only alluding to some crossovers in post-credits scenes. This situation may change in the future. Nonetheless, it seems that the most likely approach from Marvel and Disney would be to reboot the Venom IP. Given the global movie market's waning interest in superhero films, it may take some time before we see Venom on the big screen again.
