Guided by the Shanghai Film Bureau and specially organized by the Shanghai International Film Festival Center, the "German Film Masters Exhibition" will showcase eight films from five renowned German filmmakers in Shanghai. From October 25 to 27 and November 1 to 3, these cinematic classics will meet audiences at Shanghai Film City.
This German Film Masters Exhibition will present eight masterpieces from the 1950s to the 1980s, exploring a variety of genres including science fiction, war, family, crime, women's stories, and romance. The lineup includes both well-known classics and recently restored hidden gems of cinema history.
The specially designed main visual poster artistically recreates iconic scenes from the eight films in a hand-drawn style. Each cluster of 2-3 squares on the poster cleverly relates to one another, mirroring the bold and avant-garde vision of the five masters that intertwine the cultural history and folk customs of the 20th century with romantic imagination and rational reflection.
In addition, a series of themed merchandise will be made available, including exhibition posters, ticket holders, refrigerator magnets, notepads, canvas bags, and T-shirts. Pre-sales for these items will open on October 14 (Monday) at 8 PM through the official mini-program. During the exhibition, these items will also be sold on-site at the screening venues, and film enthusiasts are warmly invited to shop.
Details about the films being screened will be unveiled soon. Ticket sales for the exhibition are expected to open on all platforms at 12 PM on October 18 (Friday).
