Born on November 3, 1954, in Taiwan, Lin Qingxia made her debut in the film industry in the 1970s, alongside Lin Fengjiao, Qin Han, and Qin Xianglin. They were famously known as the "Two Lins and Two Qins," with Lin Qingxia being a prominent figure in Chinese cinema, often referred to as the "Jade Girl." Over several decades, she starred in more than a hundred films, transitioning from roles of innocence to those of martial heroines, and won the Best Actress award at the Golden Horse Awards for her performance in "Rolling Red Dust." Since the new millennium, Lin Qingxia has gradually stepped back from the film industry, making her only television appearance in 2015 on the reality show "Idol is Here," recommended by her daughter.

In recent years, Lin Qingxia has appeared more frequently as an author. In 2014, she published "Clouds Come and Go," and her subsequent books have often featured titles in four-character phrases, such as "Inside and Outside the Window," "Before and After the Mirror," and "Essays by Qingxia." Additionally, she has designed book covers for others, such as "People Come and Go" by Jin Shenghua, published in Taiwan earlier this year.
