The film is primarily adapted from the classic work of martial arts literature by Jin Yong, covering chapters 34 to 40 of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes." The story follows Guo Jing (played by Xiao Zhan) as he leaves his hometown in childhood and gradually cultivates immense power capable of altering circumstances and destiny. Despite being appreciated and valued by eminent masters, who bestow upon him the unparalleled martial arts techniques of "Nine Yin Manual" and "Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms," he becomes the target of jealousy from various factions. Remaining neither arrogant nor humble, Guo Jing, with a childlike heart, and Huang Rong (played by Zhuang Dafei) strive to protect the borders of Southern Song amidst arrows and gunfire.
