On November 16, the 37th China Golden Rooster Awards ceremony was held at the Xiamen Strait Grand Theater.

The film "The Twentieth Clause," directed by Zhang Yimou, won the Best Feature Film award this year. Its lead actor, Lei Jiayin, also received the Best Actor award.

The selection committee unanimously believed the film "showcases the tremendous progress in contemporary China's rule of law." Awards presenters Huang Jianxin and Xiao Guiyun presented the trophy to director Zhang Yimou.

This marks the 11th time Zhang Yimou has won the Golden Rooster Award. At 74 years old, he humbly noted, "The several films nominated together for Best Feature Film are all excellent and have things from which I can learn. That 'The Twentieth Clause' won is partly due to luck."

During the evening's ceremony, the "China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Lifetime Achievement Award (Film)" was also presented. This year, it was awarded to the 99-year-old screenwriter Xu Guangyao (pen name: Yue Feng) and 82-year-old representative of the fourth generation of directors, Xie Fei.

"Baiyangdian, beautiful scenery, many heroes, there's always a Ga Zi (a character from a popular story) around." Xu Guangyao's work "Little Soldier Zhang Ga" has been a cherished childhood memory for generations of Chinese audiences during the Children's Day cinema outings. Due to health reasons, he was unable to attend in person but sent a video expressing, "It’s an honor to contribute to writing stories of the Jizhong people's battles."
