On November 21, @ChinaNews reported that renowned actress Zheng Zheng, who played the role of Yuanyang in the 1987 adaptation of "Dream of the Red Chamber," passed away in Beijing on the evening of November 20, at the age of 61.
Her notable works include "Towards the Distance," "The Question of the West," "Dwelling Narrowness," and "You Are My Lover."
In 1985, Zheng Zheng won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 5th China TV Flying Apsaras Awards for her role as Du Jianying in her first television series, "Towards the Distance."
In 1987, she successfully portrayed the character Yuanyang in the costume drama "Dream of the Red Chamber." Following this, she received numerous offers and starred in rural-themed dramas like "White Mountain Ridge," children's series like "Window Pane," and revolutionary films such as "Red Rhododendrons of Bashan."
In 2018, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 34th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards for her role as Liu Shufen in the drama film "The Question of the West."
