On January 29th local time, as an important project of the 2025 "Happy Spring Festival" series of activities, the China National Ballet's New Year dance drama "Celebrating the New Year" premiered grandly at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, the United States.

Before the performance, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng delivered a speech, saying that he believed this art feast that blends Chinese and Western elements would show a unique charm, and once again prove that the Chinese and American people share the same pursuit of beauty, love of art, and yearning for a better life. He hoped that China and the United States would build more cultural and artistic bridges to bring the two peoples closer together.
"Celebrating the New Year" is adapted from the classic ballet "The Nutcracker", incorporating traditional Chinese cultural elements such as the "Zodiac Dance", "Spring Festival Couplet Dance" and "Crane Dance", vividly showing the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival. The National Ballet of China, together with the Kennedy Center Orchestra and the National Children's Chorus of the United States, presented a wonderful performance, which was applauded by the audience and the curtain call was taken more than a dozen times.
