In-depth research, cases covering key areas
"The Interests of the People" is advised by Zhang Xueqiao, Deputy Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and is guided throughout by the Public Interest Litigation Procuratorate and the Press Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, ensuring the authority and professionalism of the content.
The documentary was jointly produced by Qin Bo Studio and Liu Yue Studio of Shanghai Radio and Television Station's Real Media. The team has long been concerned with and deeply explored social reality themes. Their representative works such as "Human World", "The First Time in Life", "First Response" and "Rescue on the Line" have won many important awards at home and abroad.
During the preliminary research stage, the creative team and film crew of Procuratorate Daily established contacts with procuratorates in more than 20 provinces and autonomous regions across the country, followed prosecutors on the front line in handling public interest litigation cases, and gained an in-depth understanding of the specific content of each link.
The creative team conducted in-depth research on nearly 100 specific cases that are being handled or prepared for filing, and selected more than ten representative and typical cases, which basically cover the key areas of procuratorial public interest litigation. The team also visited experts, professors, and NPC deputies in the field of procuratorial organs and public interest litigation across the country, and did sufficient homework on the policy and legal cognition levels.
It is understood that each episode of the documentary is a social issue with great impact and news value. How to express these themes well is full of challenges and tests for the directors.
According to the main creators, for nearly a year in 2024, the main creative team was divided into ten groups and went to various parts of the country, deeply rooted in the front line of prosecution, working and living with the prosecutors, and immersing themselves in recording the entire process of reviewing and handling typical cases of public interest litigation and guiding cases, and deeply understood how prosecutors "handle every case with high quality and efficiency."
