    The 7th special operation to protect the copyright of cinema films has arrested more than 40 people who secretly filmed, illegally recorded and illegally disseminated films

    In order to crack down on sneak shots and illegal recordings in theaters and illegal dissemination, maintain a good order of copyright protection for cinema films, and enhance the public's awareness of film copyright protection, since January this year, the National Copyright Administration, the National Film Administration, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have jointly deployed the 7th special operation for copyright protection of cinema films.

    As of February 20, the special operation has investigated and handled 22 cases of copyright infringement and piracy involving Spring Festival movies, arrested more than 40 people who secretly filmed, illegally recorded, and illegally disseminated movies, and promoted relevant online platforms to delete 2.2957 million infringing links involving Spring Festival movies, banned and restricted 4,116 accounts that repeatedly infringed the copyright, severely cracked down on the illegal recording and dissemination of cinema movies, and escorted genuine cinema movies. During the special operation, copyright law enforcement departments in various places investigated and handled a number of typical cases of illegal recording and dissemination of cinema movies.

    1. A case in which a foreign national in Shunyi, Beijing illegally recorded and distributed cinema films.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the Beijing Copyright Law Enforcement Department investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that since December 2024, a foreigner was instructed by a foreign piracy gang to pirate "Venom: The Last Dance" and "Incineration" in a Beijing cinema and spread them through the network disk. At present, the Beijing Municipal Cultural Market Comprehensive Law Enforcement Corps has filed a case against the foreigner.

    2. The case of Zhao Moumou in Tianjin Binhai illegally recording and distributing movies released during the Spring Festival cinema.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Tianjin Binhai New Area investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that on January 30, 2025, in order to increase the attention of his personal account on the social platform, Zhao Moumou pirated "Nezha: The Devil Boy Conquers the Dragon King" in a cinema in Tianjin and spread it through his personal account on the online social platform, causing the pirated film to spread rapidly through the Internet. At present, the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Tianjin Binhai New Area has filed a case against Zhao Moumou for investigation.

    3. The case of Zhang Moumou in Luliang, Shanxi, who illegally recorded and distributed movies released during the Spring Festival.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Luliang City, Shanxi Province investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that on January 29, 2025, Zhang XX pirated "Boonie Bears: Restart" in a cinema in Luliang and spread it through his personal account on the online social platform in order to let others watch it, causing the pirated film to spread rapidly through the Internet. At present, the Cultural Market Law Enforcement Detachment of Luliang City, Shanxi Province has filed a case against Zhang XX for investigation.

    4. The case of Lin Moumou from Yongji, Jilin, who illegally recorded and distributed movies released during the Spring Festival cinema.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Jilin City, Jilin Province investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that on January 29, 2025, Lin watched "Nezha: The Devil Boy Conquers the Dragon King" in a cinema in Yongji County and live-streamed it through his personal account on the online social platform, causing the pirated film to spread rapidly through the Internet. At present, the Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Brigade of the Cultural Market of Yongji County, Jilin City, Jilin Province has filed a case against Lin.

    5. The case of Wang Moumou in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, who illegally recorded and distributed movies released during the Spring Festival.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Suqian City, Jiangsu Province investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that on January 29, 2025, in order to make profits by selling pirated films online, Wang Moumou pirated "Boonie Bears: Restart" in a cinema in Shuyang County and spread it through the Internet. At present, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Brigade of the Cultural Market of Shuyang County, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province has filed a case against Wang Moumou.

    6. The case of Wang Moumou and others in Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province, who illegally recorded and distributed movies released during the Spring Festival cinema.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that on January 29 and 30, 2025, in order to make profits through the online sales of pirated films, Wang Moumou and three others successively pirated "The Second Part of the Gods: The Battle of Xiqi", "Operation Jiaolong", "The Legend of the Condor Heroes: The Greatest Hero", and "Boonie Bears: Restart the Future" in multiple theaters in Pingxiang and spread them through the Internet. At present, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Detachment of the Cultural Market of Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province has filed a case against Wang Moumou and three others for investigation and punishment.

    7. The case of Li Moumou and others in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, who illegally recorded and distributed movies released during the Spring Festival cinema.

    According to the clues transferred by the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province investigated the case. After investigation, it was found that on January 30, 2025, in order to make profits through the online sales of pirated films, Li and five others successively recorded "Detective Chinatown 1900" and "Nezha: The Devil Boy Conquers the Dragon King" in a cinema in Lianjiang and distributed them through the network disk. At present, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Detachment of the Cultural Market of Lianjiang City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province has filed a case against Li and five others.

    8. Zhejiang Jinhua cracked the case of Ren Mou and others distributing a series of cinema movies.

    Based on clues from online patrols, the public security organs of Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province cracked the case. After investigation, it was found that the suspect Ren and others set up pirated websites and apps, disseminated infringing and pirated movies such as "Nezha: The Devil Boy Conquers the Dragon King" and "Investiture of the Gods Part II: War in Xiqi", and made profits by publishing paid advertisements, involving a total amount of more than 14 million yuan. At present, 11 suspects have been arrested.

    9. Anhui cracked the case of Tang and others distributing a series of cinema movies.

    Based on clues from online patrols, the Anhui Provincial Public Security Bureau cracked the case. After investigation, it was found that the suspect Tang and others set up pirated film and television websites and apps, disseminated infringing and pirated films such as "Nezha: The Devil Boy Conquers the Dragon King", and made profits by publishing paid advertisements, involving more than 12 million yuan. At present, 10 suspects have been arrested.

    10. Chongqing cracked the case of Zhou and others distributing a series of cinema movies.

    Based on the clues reported by the copyright administrative law enforcement department, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau cracked the case. After investigation, it was found that the criminal suspect Zhou and others collected customer orders through online stores, processed infringing and pirated "Nezha: The Devil Boy Conquers the Dragon King" and other animation and film works, and produced USB flash drives containing infringing and pirated film and television works for external sales for profit, involving a total amount of more than 5.3 million yuan. At present, 5 criminal suspects have been arrested.
