"Kangxi and Louis XIV", shot by Chinese and French film teams on location in the two countries, is a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. It reveals a little-known history of exchanges between the two great emperors, Kangxi of China and Louis XIV of France.

It is reported that since its release in May last year, "Kangxi and Louis XIV" has received a high reputation of 7.5 points on Douban, and has won many honors, including nomination for the Best Documentary/Educational Film at the 37th China Film Golden Rooster Awards, the 20th China-US Film Festival's annual "Golden Angel" Best Documentary Film, and the 3rd Chinese Documentary Film Conference "Golden Seagull" Cultural History Recommended Works.
The film was produced by Guangzhou Radio and Television Station, China Film Distribution Co., Ltd., and France's Lucky Light Film Music Company, and distributed by China Film Distribution Co., Ltd. and Bai'an Pictures (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
