
Recently, the Sino-French co-produced documentary "Kangxi and Louis XIV" was screened at the Shanghai Maritime University. After watching the film, the audience gave it thumbs up, saying that the film is not only rich in content and highly informative, but also not boring at all, "it can be said to be quite a surprise."
"Kangxi and Louis XIV", shot by Chinese and French film teams on location in the two countries, is a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. It reveals a little-known history of exchanges between the two great emperors, Kangxi of China and Louis XIV of France.

It is reported that since its release in May last year, "Kangxi and Louis XIV" has received a high reputation of 7.5 points on Douban, and has won many honors, including nomination for the Best Documentary/Educational Film at the 37th China Film Golden Rooster Awards, the 20th China-US Film Festival's annual "Golden Angel" Best Documentary Film, and the 3rd Chinese Documentary Film Conference "Golden Seagull" Cultural History Recommended Works.
The film was produced by Guangzhou Radio and Television Station, China Film Distribution Co., Ltd., and France's Lucky Light Film Music Company, and distributed by China Film Distribution Co., Ltd. and Bai'an Pictures (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. It adopted a multi-line distribution and long-term screening model that is relatively rare in the industry, and was screened in rotation in many key cities across the country.

In the past, documentary films were always screened in theaters for a day or short time. Before interested audiences could choose a time to watch the film, the film was already offline. The relevant person in charge of the Daxiang Preview Platform said: The film is currently being screened for a long time at the Daxiang Preview Platform (nationally), Beijing Shenying International Cinema Academy South Road Store, Shanghai Duoyunxuan Dolby Atmos Cinema, Shanghai AMG Sea Pearl Cinema (Lianyang Store), Nantong Cultural Palace Century Cinema, Quzhou Shenhua Xintiandi Cinema (Times Square Store), and Ningbo Film City (Asia Store).
According to the relevant person in charge of the Elephant Preview Platform, the film has been well received since its release, especially among college students. From last year to now, it has been invited to hold special screenings at major famous universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Normal University, University of International Business and Economics, School of International Relations, Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School, Sun Yat-sen University, and Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, bringing a historical and cultural feast across time and space to teachers and students.
