"Comrade Ye Linlang, an actor from Changchun Film Studio, passed away in Changchun at 23:56 on April 8, 2025, at the age of 93. Ye Linlang's farewell ceremony will be held at 9:10 on April 10, 2025 in Hall 1 of Changchun Funeral Home.
Ye Linlang was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province in February 1932. She studied at Shanghai Jinde Primary School and Nanjing Mingde Middle School. She loved literature and art and often participated in recitations, lectures, dramas and yangko performances held by the middle school. In September 1950, Ye Linlang was admitted to the Performing Arts Institute of the Central Film Bureau (now Beijing Film Academy), becoming one of the first art students in New China to receive systematic acting education. In 1953, she was assigned to the Actors Troupe of Beijing Film Studio. In 1954, she appeared on the big screen for the first time in the feature film "Land". In 1955, she was transferred to Changchun Film Studio as an actor. She retired from Changchun Film Studio in December 1986. In 2011, he won the Special Honor Award from the Jury of the 13th China Film Performance Society Golden Phoenix Awards.

Ye Linlang in her early years
Shortly after joining Changchun Film Studio, Ye Linlang played the heroine Fu Ping in the movie "Such Passionate". This is an emotional but slightly promiscuous female image. Ye Linlang's wonderful performance made this complex character won the love of the audience. After that, she vividly portrayed the images of two female spies, "Zi Liping" and "Wang Manli", in the anti-spy films "Tiger's Lair" and "Railway Guards" respectively. The former appears to be well-educated, polite and gentle, but in fact she is scheming and suspicious. The latter's simple outfit when she first appears subverts the image of female spies in previous movies, but her every frown, smile, gesture and movement brings the female spy's sinister, vicious and scheming nature to life on the screen. Relying on the experience accumulated on the drama stage and her solid acting skills, Ye Linlang interprets these two roles in a clear and natural way, becoming a classic image in the audience's mind.

Ye Linlang's performances are lifelike and her characters are distinct, and she is particularly good at playing villains and comedy characters. During her more than 40 years of work at Changchun Film Studio, she participated in the filming of more than 30 films and TV dramas, including "Smiling Face", "Jin Yuji", "Sunny Days", "Golden Avenue", "The Young Generation", "The Flower of Volleyball", "The Story That Should Not Have Happened", "City Masquerade", "The Last Empress", and "Divorce Contract". She dubbed characters in more than 30 translated films, including "Paul Korchagin", "A Servant of Two Masters", and "Fake Gold Coins", and played major and important roles in many large-scale dramas and one-act plays, such as "Sentry Under the Neon Lights". In 2008, Ye Linlang was invited to play the role of Granny Liu in the new version of the TV series A Dream of Red Mansions, which became her last performing arts image.

Different from the image she created on the screen, Ye Linlang in real life is gentle in manners and kind in character. Many years later, recalling the experience of playing villain roles, she said, "I am not pretty and don't have as many concerns as pretty girls, so I can let go whether I play a good guy or a bad guy. 'But directors think that she is very versatile and has a wide range of acting skills, which is why she keeps getting film offers. Although most of them are "small roles", she devotes all her passion to creation, striving to make "each person has his own appearance".
Teacher Ye Linlang, rest in peace! ”
