On April 14, the HBO version of "Harry Potter" officially announced the six main adult actors.

John Lithgow, who has won multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his roles in "Surfing" and "Dexter", will play Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts.
Janet McTeer, who has been nominated for an Oscar twice for her roles in Dandelions and Androgynous, will play Professor McGonagall.
Paapa Essiedu, nominated for an Emmy for “I May Destroy You,” plays Professor Snape;
Nick Frost, who starred in "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz", plays Hagrid.
The above four castings have been rumored before. Among the new additions, Luke Thallon will play Professor Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse will play Argus Filch. It is worth noting that Whitehouse played Sir Cadogan in the movie "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and is the only actor who appeared in both the original movie and the TV series.

In addition, the actors for the three main characters Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron have not yet been announced.
According to a statement from HBO, the drama will be a faithful adaptation of the original work and is scheduled to start filming this summer. The original author JK Rowling will serve as the executive producer of the drama.
