The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival will be held from June 13 to 22. On May 26, the festival held a mobilization meeting for designated screening theaters and a safety service technology training meeting, at which the list of 48 screening theaters was announced. The list covers 43 theaters in Shanghai, including the "five new cities", and 5 theaters in 5 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region. This year, the Shanghai International Film Festival will actively expand the theater screening linkage model, allowing the ticket economy to shift from a single purchase to a chain experience, and promote the in-depth integration of culture, tourism, commerce, sports and exhibitions.

Technology upgrades in screening theaters enhance audience engagement
In February this year, the Shanghai International Film Festival and the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Industry Association launched the recruitment of screening theaters, with a total of 117 theaters participating in the registration. In order to further enhance the influence of this year's international film festival, promote the linkage of cultural tourism, business and exhibition, and promote the "ticket economy", the screening process comprehensively considered the hardware equipment, geographical location, service quality, surrounding business resources, etc. of the registered theaters, and the list of this year's screening theaters was finally released.
This year's film festival added 4 new screening theaters, namely Jiukeshu Cinema, Baiying Sanke Cinema, Huanying Cinema (Jiuguang Center Store), and Starx Cinema (Shanghai Baoshan Sun Moon Light Store). Among them, Fengxian Jiukeshu Cinema, which has the second largest theater in Shanghai, was selected, which also added a theater with a capacity of 1,000 people in this year's film festival, following the theaters of Shanghai Film City and Shanghai Grand Cinema with a capacity of 1,000 people.
In addition, the old SFC Shanghai Film Bailian Cinemas (Yaohan IMAX store) made a surprise return, and the projection equipment of Jiushi Shanghai Center Theater and Huangpu Theater, which is known as the "national anthem singing place", was fully upgraded to 4K projection, which will bring more convenient experience and more shocking audio-visual effects to the audience.
Baiying Sanke Films, which previously launched the innovative "movie + food" model, also joined the army of theaters for the first time this year. During the film festival, two special cocktails limited to the Shanghai Film Festival will be launched, one with alcohol and one without alcohol, to offer movie fans a wonderful collision of vision and taste.
Movie fans in the Yangtze River Delta region can still enjoy the feast of light and shadow at their doorstep. During the screening period in the Yangtze River Delta, the latest masterpieces from countries along the Belt and Road and other domestic and overseas filmmakers will be screened in five theaters in five cities, including Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Hefei, from June 20 to June 27.
The film festival will announce the schedule on June 3. Tickets will go on sale on Damai and Tao Piaopiao at 12:00 noon on June 5 in Shanghai, and all screening theaters will start selling tickets offline 2 hours after online ticket sales. Tickets for the Yangtze River Delta region will go on sale on Damai and Tao Piaopiao at 12:00 noon on June 6.
Small ticket stubs become the key to the integrated development of culture, tourism, commerce, sports and exhibitions
This year's film festival actively expands the cinema screening linkage model, proactively integrates multi-dimensional resources of culture, tourism, commerce and sports exhibitions, innovatively creates diversified movie-watching experiences, and promotes the in-depth integration of culture, tourism, commerce and sports exhibitions in all aspects through movie ticket stubs.
Innovative measures stimulate mass consumption demand. Most of the cinemas in the commercial district will cooperate with the catering businesses in the commercial complexes where they are located. For example, Daguangming Cinema, Tianshan Cinema-Hongqiao Art Center, etc. will launch special or co-branded drinks. Cinemas such as Baimeihui Cinema (Jing'an Kerry Center Store) will jointly launch limited dishes with surrounding catering businesses. SFC Shanghai Cinema, Huanying Cinema, Wanda Cinema, Mall Theater, etc. will jointly launch discount promotions with surrounding catering businesses for movie tickets; Jiukeshu, Jiading Cinema, etc. will introduce local specialties to create a food market. Meituan and Dianping will also launch the "Watching Movies·Catching Shanghai" food map in conjunction with the screening films, and for the first time launch the "Catching the Scene Package" for fans of the Shanghai Film Festival.
Festival cultural creation activates the dual value of art and commerce. The cultural and creative products of the Shanghai Film Festival, which are loved by movie fans, have launched a number of special products in the "Tribute to Masters" series this year. In addition to online channels, more screening theaters will also sell them offline. The ticket stubs of the Shanghai Film Festival also hide a variety of ways to play. In single theaters such as the Palace Cinema and SFC Shanghai Film Cinema, the ticket stubs can be exchanged for the theater's self-made badges, transparent cards and other special peripherals; Caoyang Cinema launched a replica of the 1970s commemorative ticket stubs to awaken the sense of ritual of watching movies in the memory of Shanghai people; Peace Cinema and fragrance brands jointly provide limited gifts to increase the added value of consumption.
"Movies + Tourism" promotes a new trend of industrial integration. Many screening theaters provide ticket buyers with benefits such as hotel discounts, accommodation packages, and discounts on cooperative attractions. Jiading Theater and other surrounding attractions have set up check-in stamp redemption, and Hongqiao Art Center has launched an "OK Map" to explore stores and check in. In addition, most theaters provide luggage storage services for out-of-town movie fans who check in at the Shanghai Film Festival with trolley cases.
More consumption scenarios promote the upgrading of cultural experience. Shanghai Cinema will jointly launch discount and free class experience activities with dance studio LOHAS Shanghai Film Studio, and SFC Yaohan Store will launch preferential activities for gyms in Yaohan shopping malls with ticket stubs. In addition, movie fans can visit the 120th Anniversary of Chinese Cinema and the Hudec Code Special Exhibition with Daguangming Cinema tickets, and ticket buyers of Huangpu Theater can visit the "Sing the Horn of Advancement" - a joint exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the singing of "March of the Volunteers" for free, and Lingang Performing Arts Center will provide fans with a lottery for discount cards for performances.
The small ticket stub not only carries the joys and sorrows on the screen, but also hides the "easter eggs" of the entire movie city. It connects the cultural tourism, business and exhibition industry chain, promotes the development of a multi-dimensional movie-watching ecology, and is expected to become the golden key to decode the development of a city's cultural industry.
