
According to the WeChat public account "Jimu News" on November 1, Chen Zihong, a famous musician and general manager of Taiwan's Huanxi Music Records, confirmed the passing of famous musician Tu Ying on social media. Chen Zihong wrote: "My old friend of 45 years, may Teacher Tu Ying rest in peace."

Online reports indicate that Tu Ying passed away during a jogging accident while preparing for Chyi Yu's concert in Guangzhou. At 3 PM on November 1st, Chyi Yu's "Still Charming" Guangzhou concert issued an emergency announcement stating that "due to a sudden accident involving a team member, Chyi Yu's Guangzhou concert, originally scheduled for November 1st, 2025 at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou, cannot be held as scheduled." The announcement continued, "After urgent consultations and careful evaluation with all parties, we have decided to postpone this performance."

Subsequently, news emerged that the "team member" was none other than the famous musician Tu Ying.

Jimu News reporters noted that Tu Ying had just finished performing at Wakin Chau's concert on October 28th, and had posted on Weibo on October 30th about his plane ticket from Taipei to Guangzhou. Just yesterday, he was showing off the scenery outside the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall to netizens and fans. It's worth mentioning that yesterday morning, Tu Ying also posted pictures of himself using a treadmill in his Guangzhou hotel.

Tu Ying was born in 1963 and is 62 years old this year. As an arranger, music director, and keyboardist, he has participated in the production of more than 2,000 Chinese pop music works since his debut in 1987. His arrangement works cover albums of many well-known singers, such as Jimmy Lin's "Rainy Season at Seventeen", Jacky Cheung's "I Can't Forget You" and "Love Letter", Winnie Hsin's "Taste", Jeff Chang's "Too Much", A-mei's "Dreaming of Titanic", Valen Hsu's "If Clouds Know", and A-Sun's "Always Quiet".
