On March 18, 1934, Daqi was born in Huaide County, Fufeng Mountain, Jilin Province. His original name was Qi Fujun. He graduated from Changchun Vocational School of Posts and Telecommunications. He is an actor, producer, and director in Mainland China. He once worked at Fujian Film Studio. Deputy director, director of China Film Association.
In 1953, Daqi entered the Harbin Railway Art Troupe (the predecessor of the China Railway Art Troupe) and became a professional drama actor.
In 1956, Dach won the Young Artist Award at the 11th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival for his performance in "Border Fire".
In 1961, Daqi was officially transferred from the Railway Art Troupe to Changchun Film Studio to become a professional film actor.
In 1969, he was sent to the countryside of Shulan City, Jilin Province to join the queue and settled down. He did not return to Changying until 1972.
In 1975, he starred in the film "Rolling Wheels" directed by Yin Yiqing, playing the role of former model Geng Dongshan.
From 1977 to 1978, he starred in "Bear Trail" as Old Wei Ye and "Fishing Island Tide" as Wang Sijiang.
In 1979, the color feature film "Ji Hongchang" (Part 1 and 2) starring Dach was named one of the best feature films in the third popular film "Hundred Flowers Award".
In 1981, Daqi was invited to Beijing Film Academy to star in the historical film "Prisoners of the Sea" directed by Li Wenhua (Part 1 and 2), playing the leading role of Tang Jinlong, the leader of the Chinese labor force.
In 1982, Daqi was transferred to work at Fujian Film Studio as deputy director. He directed and starred in the movie "Stubborn Woman" and directed the TV series "Qiu Longbao".
In 1990, Dachi gained attention for his role as King Zhou in the costume drama "Feng Shen Bang".
