    TVB’s “Queen Foreigner” Ha Guorong committed suicide at home at the age of 58

    TVB entertainment news station reported the news of Ha Guorong's death.

    According to TVB news, on the evening of February 2, Australian actor Gregory Charles Rivers, who was well-known for playing foreign police officers in Hong Kong dramas for many years, died of suicide at the age of 58. Ho Kwok-wing was found burning charcoal in a village house in Tai Au Mun Estate, Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong. The cause of death has yet to be determined after an autopsy.

    Ho Kwok-wing once mentioned that his Chinese name came from him singing Leslie Cheung's "Monica" in a performance. His Chinese classmates added his English surname "Rivers" to Leslie Cheung's name, and it became the name he has today.

    Ha Guorong once served as Chow Yun-fat's English teacher and followed him to Hollywood.

    In recent years, Ha Guorong suffered from cancer and owed huge debts due to medical expenses. Later, he was able to relieve his urgent need because he served as the spokesperson for electronic door locks.
