[Editor's Note] To help you watch the "first episode" of a drama, are the recently aired dramas worth watching? Maybe some dramas will gradually get better, and maybe some dramas will start high and end low, so this article is for reference only. If there are any follow-up slaps, I will keep you posted.
The Days of a Detective
Broadcasting platform: CCTV-8, Tencent Video
Start time: May 5
"The Days of a Criminal Policeman" is directed by Gao Qunshu and Xiao Yifan, starring Ou Hao, Zhang Jianing, He Bing, Wang Jiajia and others. It is adapted from Lan Yi's novel "The Days of a Criminal Policeman" and tells the story of young criminal policeman Liu Ziming (played by Ou Hao) who, under the guidance of his master Wei Jie (played by He Bing), works with his team members to solve cases.

After the show was aired, it attracted widespread attention with its strong cast and the gimmick of being adapted from a real case: the real-time ratings exceeded 2% in the first 10 minutes of the premiere, and the peak of Kuyun reached 2.859%, ranking first in the ratings of all channels in the same period nationwide. On the day of the premiere, the popularity on Tencent exceeded 20,000, ranking first on the soaring list, and the popularity continued to rise, reaching 24,000 on May 8.
Since the creators of this drama tried the "criminal investigation + life flow" model, audiences who like criminal investigation dramas may not be able to adapt to it. For example, the "murder case of a 50-year-old woman" in the first few episodes was dull and lacked the tension that a criminal investigation drama should have. It was like watching a "slow-life drama". However, it was precisely this "life flow" that gave the drama a sense of down-to-earth. The banter between the master played by He Bing and the apprentices played by Ou Hao and others was full of human touch.
Now it remains to be seen whether subsequent episodes will present several real cases involved in the original novel: the 2006 methamphetamine case, the serial child kidnapping case, etc.
The Enforcers
Broadcast platform: Youku
Start time: May 7
Three TV Kings and one TV Queen, the suspense drama "The Enforcers" co-produced by Youku and Shaw Brothers is a rare luxurious lineup of Hong Kong dramas in recent years. Well-known Hong Kong actors such as Bosco Wong, Kenneth Ma, Moses Chan, Jessica Hsuan, Lawrence Ng and others have gathered together to show the confrontation between good and evil and the struggle of human nature with the joint law enforcement of the police force, the Department of Justice and the Independent Commission Against Corruption as the core.
Senior Police Inspector Chow Chun Kit (Bosco Wong) experienced the heavy blow of losing his colleagues while tracking down the head of a criminal group, Tai Cho-fu (Lam Ka-wah). Senior Investigation Officer Ko Ho-yin (Kenneth Ma) of the Independent Commission Against Corruption also experienced the struggle between family affection and humanity while tracking down the inner traitor of the police force. Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Lau Yu-fan (Moses Chan) of the Department of Justice sought a balance between legal principles and human feelings.

Judging from the episodes that have been aired, the main storyline is fast-paced and the fighting scenes are very realistic. The three-line parallel police-criminal game is well performed by the veteran actors, and the power game between the various law enforcement departments is quite exciting.
However, some details of the series were still pointed out by the sharp-eyed "barrage teachers" as unreasonable: Why can the lawyer and the defendant freely carry dangerous items such as paper cutters when they meet during the trial without undergoing a strict body search? Why are the defendant's family members not protected by the police, allowing the villain to easily threaten them with this? The beginning, development, turning point and ending seem to be deliberately designed to set up contradictions and conflicts, and the lines also need to be reconsidered.
Overall, the tone of "The Enforcers" is serious and dull. Even the goal of the serious crime squad is not to solve the case, but to lie down and live well. The lines full of class flavor are impressive. It is not as lively and vivid as the police in previous Hong Kong criminal investigation dramas, but it is a bit special. Fortunately, the two cases at the beginning are unresolved, and the foreshadowing is enough to attract the audience to continue watching.
