On October 28, the second "Light of the Greater Bay Area" Short Video Competition campus event was successfully held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This campus event was co-hosted by the Bureau of Institutional Service of the National Radio and Television Administration, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Phoenix Show, with the support of the Research and Innovation Office of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the New perspectives Center for Radio and Television, and the Academy of Arts and Communication at Beijing Normal University.
This event is one of the activities in the series for the second "Light of the Greater Bay Area" Short Video Competition. It aims to further promote cultural exchange and collaboration among youth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, inspire the younger generation's enthusiasm for audiovisual content creation, and encourage them to tell the exciting stories of the Greater Bay Area from innovative perspectives.

During this campus event, representatives from various departments, including the Publicity and Culture Department of the Central Liaison Office in Hong Kong, the Bureau of Institutional Service of the National Radio and Television Administration, the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Bureau of the China Radio and Television, and the Asia-Pacific branch of the Central Radio and Television Station were present, along with representatives from Beijing Normal University, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Macau. They engaged in face-to-face communication with students, sharing their valuable experiences and insights.
Throughout the event, the organizers of the short video competition donated outstanding audiovisual works, including the documentary "China," to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In return, the university presented a commemorative shield symbolizing cooperation and friendship. Award-winning works from previous short video competitions were also showcased, reflecting the cultural landscape and innovative spirit of the Greater Bay Area through the lens of young creators. The event attracted nearly a hundred student participants, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Outstanding youth representatives from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Macau, and Beijing Normal University engaged in dialogues centered around the theme "Youth Power, Future of the Bay Area." Wang Kehan, a representative from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, expressed hopes that short videos would allow more people to see the vibrancy and opportunities in the Bay Area's development.
Yu Xiaoyang, representing Beijing Normal University, believes that audiovisual creation serves as a bridge for interaction between youth and urban culture, and hopes for more cross-regional exchange opportunities in the future. Chen Bo, a representative from the University of Macau, indicated a desire to use imagery to more widely disseminate the natural landscapes, lifestyles, and traditional culture of the Bay Area, attracting more people to recognize and participate in its development.

The second "Light of the Greater Bay Area" Short Video Competition is one of the highlights of the "Audiovisual China" series of excellent short video collection and display activities for 2024, officially launched in June this year. The competition is themed "Bay Area New Era, United Towards the Future," inviting short video works centered on the Greater Bay Area, encouraging youth to tell stories about the Bay Area from innovative perspectives and showcasing the image of the Greater Bay Area in the new era.
The competition is currently in full swing to collect entries, and the organizing committee will hold an awards ceremony to honor outstanding works and present certificates of recognition. We look forward to more youth capturing the stories of the Bay Area through their lenses, illuminating the future with creativity.
