Recently, at the 2025 Guangzhou International Auto Show, SAIC Volkswagen officially launched its new energy product series ID.ERA and announced that its first model will be the first 9-series flagship SUV of the Volkswagen brand.
It is understood that this series will cover all of the brand's future new energy vehicle models, and will build a new framework for future travel through six core initiatives: a diversified new ecosystem, a new energy pattern, a new height of intelligent cabin, a new benchmark for assisted driving, a new evolution of heritage, and a new service experience.

As the debut model in the ID.ERA series, the 9 Series flagship is positioned as a "German-engineered flagship SUV," focusing on five key technological highlights: a generation-leading range-extended powertrain, an exceptional intelligent cockpit experience, cutting-edge driver assistance systems, a class-leading body size and presence, and reliable German craftsmanship. Notably, SAIC Volkswagen simultaneously launched the "Pioneer Experience Program," opening up winter extreme road test opportunities to users for the first time, inviting consumers to participate in product verification through the official app.

In terms of product planning, the ID.ERA series will be launched intensively from 2026 onwards, covering three major technology routes: pure electric, hybrid, and range-extended. The company plans to launch 6 new energy vehicle models in 2026 and more than 20 new models by 2030, demonstrating its determination to fully embrace electrification.
The auto show also marks the debut of the first PHEV model in the Pro family – the Passat ePro. The new car focuses on "electric" (electric experience), "evolution" (comprehensive evolution), and "elegant" (elegant style) as its core selling points, further strengthening the product lineup through a new intelligent hybrid system and electrified design language.

With the addition of the Passat ePro, the Pro family now comprises five models: Passat Pro, Lavida Pro, Teramont Pro, and Tiguan L Pro, achieving full-scenario coverage from gasoline to PHEV and from mid-to-high-end to mainstream markets.
In the interactive area of the booth, the ID.3 GTX Zootopia 2 Nick Wilde custom vehicle attracted many visitors to take photos with its bright orange paint job and themed design.

By the end of 2025, SAIC Volkswagen's cumulative sales of the Volkswagen brand are expected to exceed 26 million units, maintaining its leading position in sales among single brands in China. In 2026, the Volkswagen brand will launch six new energy vehicles, and by 2030, it will launch more than 20 new models, embracing a new future with full potential.
