
The large-scale cultural program "Legend of the Silk Book", jointly produced by China Media Group and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, will be broadcast on CCTV-1 at 20:00 on April 23.

Silk books appeared in the transitional stage from bamboo slips to paper books. With silk as the writing medium, they are a unique way of recording for the Chinese ancestors and have a special status in the history of world cultural development. The Legend of Silk Books is the first to use the perspective of silk books, relying on the new archaeological research results such as the Zidanku Chu Silk Book and Silk Paintings unearthed in Changsha, Hunan, the Mawangdui Han Tomb Silk Book and Silk Paintings, and the Xuanquanzhi Silk Book Letters unearthed in Dunhuang, Gansu, combined with relevant historical and academic documents, and using the innovative method of "real records + expert interpretation + dance performance + scene re-enactment" to tell the stories behind the country and mountains and rivers, reveal their contributions to Chinese civilization, and lead the audience to appreciate the national wisdom and spiritual core.

The Bullet Library Chu Silk Book is the earliest silk book discovered, and the only silk book from the Warring States Period discovered so far. The Legend of the Silk Book fully shows for the first time its circulation trajectory and the full chain of evidence since it was defrauded to the United States in 1946 and has not been returned for nearly 80 years. It is the first time to reflect the strong call of Chinese and foreign scholars for the United States to return the Bullet Library Chu Silk Book to China as soon as possible. It is the first time to fully and deeply interpret and vividly display the rich cultural connotations of the origin of the world, the view of time and space, and the view of the universe.
The silk book from the Mawangdui Han Tomb in Changsha is known as the "Encyclopedia of the Han Dynasty", covering cultural achievements in the fields of ancient astronomy, geography, calendar, military, medicine, and faith. The program will show the full picture of the 317-centimeter-long "Laozi" for the first time, and explain how the silk book version refreshes people's understanding of Laozi's thoughts through other handed-down versions; comprehensively and deeply interpret the scientific contributions and ideological and cultural connotations of silk books such as "Miscellaneous Divination of Astronomy and Meteorology" and "Five Star Divination"; and present the charm and charm of the "Daoyintu" for sports and health preservation in the Warring States Period with contemporary dance art.

The program uses 8K ultra-high-definition technology to shoot three original silk letters unearthed from the Xuanquanzhi site in Dunhuang, including "Yuan Zhizi Fangshu", to realistically present the details of the cultural relics; it displays and interprets the "bill record" of 7 words "Chu Heshi Baisu Sizhang" on a piece of silk, and how it witnessed the silk transactions in the Han Dynasty.

The program continues to deepen the creative concept of "thought + art + technology", making full use of new technologies such as virtual reality, three-dimensional digital, artificial intelligence, etc., to create a fully digital broadcast space with real-time conversion of different scenes such as "four seasons changes, starry sky gazing, and ruins restoration", achieving extraordinary proportions of cultural relics, and finely disassembling the structure and details of cultural relics such as "Four Seasons", "Guide Map", and T-shaped silk painting, intuitively and vividly showing the connotation of cultural relics.
"Legend of the Silk Book" will be premiered on the CCTV Video APP on April 23, and will be broadcast simultaneously on CCTV.com and other new media platforms of the Central Radio and Television Station and CCTV-1.
