
On July 18, local time, the organizing committee of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival announced the list of judges for this year's Golden Lion Awards on its official website. In addition to the previously announced American director Alexander Payne as the jury chairman, there are many filmmakers familiar to global movie fans on the list, including Chinese actor Zhao Tao.

In May 2024, Zhao Tao attended the Cannes Film Festival.
Zhao Tao, who graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy, entered the film industry with Jia Zhangke's Platform in 2000. Subsequently, the two collaborated on works such as Ren Xiaoyao, The World, Still Life, A Touch of Sin, Mountains May Depart, Ash Is Purest White, and The Romantic Generation.

On February 11 this year, at the opening ceremony of the 31st Vesoul International Asian Film Festival (FICA) in France, Jia Zhangke and Zhao Tao received the Golden Tricycle Award for Lifetime Achievement together.
Among them, "Platform", "The World" and "Still Life" were all shortlisted for the main competition unit of the Venice Film Festival, and "Still Life" won the highest honor, the Golden Lion Award. In addition, Zhao Tao also won the Best Actress Award, the highest award for Italian local films, for "I Am Li" directed by Andrea Segia.

In addition to Alexander Payne and Zhao Tao, the jury also includes Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres, who was nominated for the best actress in the last Oscar for "I'm Still Here", French director and screenwriter Stéphane Brizé, who has made films such as "Market Rules" and "Out of Season", Italian director and screenwriter Maura Delpero, who has made films such as "Matriarchal House" and "Mountain Bride", Romanian famous director, screenwriter and producer Cristian Mungiu, who has made films such as "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days", "Graduation Examination" and "Nuclear Magnetic Resonance", and Iranian famous director, screenwriter and producer Mohammad Rasoulof, who has made films such as "Innocence" and "The Sacred Fig Seed". The above seven people are the luxurious jury lineup that will decide the winner of this year's Golden Lion Award.

The 82nd Venice Film Festival will be held on the Lido Island in Venice from August 27 to September 6. The opening film is confirmed to be the new work "La Grazia" by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, which will be starred by his favorite actor Toni Servillo and played by Anna Ferzetti.
