    The TV drama "When Mountain Flowers Bloom" is gaining immense popularity, and the "Spirit of the Lamp" is resonating strongly with viewers.

    The 23-episode TV drama "When Wildflowers Bloom," which is heavily guided by the National Radio and Television Administration, premiered on CCTV1 during prime time on September 10 and will conclude on September 27. Tencent Video is concurrently airing the series, while Beijing TV and Dragon Television will begin broadcasting it on September 18.

    Since its launch, "When Wildflowers Bloom" has received widespread acclaim, resonating deeply with audiences. According to statistics from China's Audio-Visual Big Data (CVB), as of September 26, the show has accumulated over 280 million viewings, with a total watch time of 120 million hours. The Weibo topic of the same name has amassed 190 million reads and over 780,000 discussions. During its premiere, the show's average ratings, reach, and loyalty were ranked first among all dramas airing in the same period. Currently, it holds a Douban score of 9.0, making it the highest-rated domestic drama of 2024.

    "When Wildflowers Bloom" is part of a TV drama showcase celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, themed "Walking with the Times, Uniting with the People." It also received support from the National Radio and Television Administration's 2022 special funding initiative for TV dramas, is an "in-depth life and grassroots" project, and is a key project under the "14th Five-Year" plan for the development of Chinese TV dramas, as well as being a priority project supported by the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee. The drama narrates the story of Zhang Guimei, a recipient of the "July 1 Medal" and "Model of the Times," who works in education at Yunnan Huaping Girls' High School. The creative team spent three years researching and filming, making several trips to Huaping County in Lijiang, Yunnan, to deepen their understanding of the life and art of the region. The filming took place alongside Huaping Girls' High School, portraying a realistic yet vibrant narrative, evoking the inspiring strength of exemplary figures and conveying the emotional power of the "Lamp-Lighting Spirit."

    "When Wildflowers Bloom" is co-produced by Yunnan Jincai Vision Film and Television Co., Tencent Video, and Xinguang Film and Television, with screenplay writers Yuan Zidan, Ding Han, Huang Shiyang, and Li Xiwei, directed by Fei Zhenxiang, and starring Song Jia, Nie Yuan, and others.
