Directed by Xie Ze, with scripts by Fu Tian, Zhang Rong, Wang Chen, and Ma Shasha, and produced by Wang Ying, the historical drama Jewels Curtains and Jade Screens starring Zhao Lusi, Liu Yuning, Tang Xiaotian, Shang Xinyue, Tang Zhenchao, and Xie Keyin has officially announced its premiere date for November 1 on Youku.

The series is adapted from Tan Tianyin's novel The Legend of Kunshan Jade and tells the story of a pearl-picking girl named Duanwu, who escapes the pearl fields to avoid humiliation. She joins the caravan of a Western merchant, Yan Zijing, embarking on a business journey, which leads her to discover the secrets of her origin and become entangled in Yan Zijing's revenge plot. After enduring the loss of her family and a beloved turning away, Duanwu renames herself Su Muzhe and bravely travels to Yangzhou, where, using her wisdom and courage, she ultimately rises to become a prominent female merchant.

This drama marks the second collaboration between Zhao Lusi and Liu Yuning following The Long Ballad.

With that, the three major streaming platforms, iQIYI, Youku, and Tencent, are set to go head-to-head —

This will be another round of competition between Zhao Lusi and Yu Shuxin, both rising stars from the '95 flower generation, following their pair of hits Bright Stars and Colors of the Sky in the summer of 2022.
